Capitol Area Bluegrass and Old Time Music Association
CABOMA primarily exists to provide a meeting point for local bluegrass musicians to jam together. Jam sessions are held twice a month in Arlington, Virginia. CABOMA also occasionally sponsors workshops.
DC Bluegrass Union
The DCBU is an excellent resource for those interested in listening to or playing bluegrass. The site includes an extensive concert calendar for the region; a concert series; lists of bluegrass bands and venues in the area; and information about local and online bluegrass radio programming. The resource section has contact information for instructors in a variety of bluegrass instruments and links to other bluegrass pages.
WAMU Bluegrass
WAMU hosts two bluegrass shows popular among local fans. Bluegrass Overnight is hosted by a variety of DJs every Sunday night from midnight to six am. Sunday mornings, listeners enjoy Stained Glass Bluegrass, hosted by Red Shipley for over twenty years.
